October 6 is a
must-be-there event at Wilton’s Ambler Farm. A festive Open House is planned
and this community event will feature representation from the majority of
Wilton’s organizations. Much of our artwork will be displayed and sold, with
20-percent of the proceeds going to Ambler Farm, a 200-year old farm recently
purchased by the Town of Wilton. Come and roam the beautiful property, with its house, red hay
barn, and other interesting structures. Artists will be painting there and it promises to be great fun! To hang your
artwork, just bring it at noon on October 6 and plan to spend the afternoon
painting!
Signed prints of the
Ambler Farm barns, signed by artist Warren Kimble, will be on sale to benefit
the Ambler Farm restoration project.

Help Spook Wilton!
The 4th
Annual Halloween Window Paint-a-thon is scheduled for Saturday, October 12.
(Rain date is October 13). This year, the eerie window painters will be
Wilton’s 4th through 8th graders. Local merchants are
already calling, donating their large windows to the haunting event, which is sure to fill our bucolic streets
with all the ghosts, witches, bats and spiders we can handle. Ribbons and certificates will be awarded to
all painters, who should gather at the Town Center Gazebo at 9 AM on October
12. Parents must stay with children.

ARTS COUNCIL BACKGROUNDER
The Wilton Arts Council
was founded in 1977. Its focus is on increasing the enjoyment of, and
participation in, the arts. The Council encourages artistic activities of all
kinds: writing, acting, crafts, painting, poetry, music, photography, film,
video, sculpture, dance, printmaking, and more.
WAC nurtures a sense
of community among artistic and cultural organizations, and the artists who
live, work, teach, show, perform, and offer their talents to our community. To
this end, WAC works in harmony with the Wilton School System and other
established organizations. WAC encourages the Wilton Business Community to
participate in artistic activities as well.
The Council is
town-chartered, tax-exempt, and a non-profit organization. All workers are
volunteers. If you would like to volunteer to help at any of the many events
and functions, please e-mail us at www.wiltonarts.org.
Showcase Your Art.
If you are a local
artist, and a Wilton Arts Council member in good standing, we would welcome a
showing of your work at Tom-E-Toes during 2004. Exhibits feature a new artist
each month. There's an opening reception the first Tuesday of every month from
6 to 8 PM. This is a wonderful opportunity to display your artwork and share
your artistry with the public. For info, e-mail Shirley@wiltonarts.org.
