The Seventh Annual Halloween Window Painting sponsored by the Wilton Arts Council was a huge success for the children who participated. Although they were fewer in number due to weather and other commitments, they all won a worthy ribbon and had lots of fun doing great paintings around town. The weather on Saturday was very rainy so the painting was postponed until Sunday noon. It was chilly and often threatened rain but it did not interfere with the artistic abilities of the 4th through 8th graders who participated. A great job was done by all of the artists. A great big THANK YOU to all the merchants and the Wilton Library for offering their windows. They included: William Raveis Real Estate, Arena Hairstyling, The Village Market, Boyd’s, The Movie Gallery, Patriot Bank, Beauty Boutique, The Lollipop Guild, Winged Monkey, Cold Stone Ice Cream, UPS store, and Stop and Shop. Please take a stroll around town and see these works of art by Wilton’s own up-and-coming artists. The winners this year included: In first place Luke Goodwin, Christopher Ugarte and Jessica Mathis. Second place ribbons went to Ryan Elizabeth Burke, Kellen Sanna, Tilden Blair, Allessandra DiCorato and Mary Willis and third place ribbons went to Shannon Quinlan, Emma Dilworth, Adrian DiCorato, Karina Olsen and Christie Greeley. Honorable Mentions were awarded to Rebecca Reeves, Katie Foleg, Charlotte Murphy, Sarah Kelley, Rebecca Benham and Mariel Wallace. Congratulations to all our winners. The Wilton Arts Council appreciates the assistance of members of the Wilton Woman’s Club and Thomas O’Connell from the Wilton High School Key Club. Judges had a difficult task to figure out the best in each grade. The judges for the window painting were Denise Susalka, Florence Price and Anne Richards all from the Wilton Arts Council and Mr. Brian Lilly. Thank you everyone for your fine performance.
