The sixth annual Halloween Window Painting sponsored by the Wilton Arts Council was a great success for the children who participated. Although there were few they all won a worthy ribbon and had lots of fun doing great paintings around town. The weather was perfect with not even a sign of rain in the forecast. A great big THANK YOU to all the merchants and the Wilton Library for offering their windows. They included: William Raveis Real Estate, Open House, Stefano’s Pizza, Wilton Cleaners, Stewarts Flowers, Consignments, Arena Hairstyling, The Village Market, Fino Leather Goods, the Wilton Library and Stop and Shop. Due to a huge soccer tournament and the holiday weekend very few artists could participate but those who did, showed their expertise in painting. Please take a stroll around town and see these works of art by Wilton’s own up-and-coming artists. The winners this year included: In first place winners were Marisa Salvato, Meaghan Latella, Jessica Mathis and Kristina Durels. Second place ribbons went to Diana Bonni and Melissa Simeone and third place went to Jessie Lempit. Congratulations to all our winners. The Wilton Arts Council appreciates the assistance of members of the Wilton Woman’s Club and the Wilton High School Key Club. Helping from the Wilton Woman’s Club were Eileen Ferro, Genia Meinhold, Julie Wojciechowski, and Amy Jerrereis. Helping from the Key Club were Meg McCarty, Dana Stansbury, Courtney Stack and Amanda Robertson. Judges had a difficult task to figure out the best in each grade. The judges for the window painting were from the Wilton Arts Council and the Wilton Woman’s Club. Wilton Arts Council judges included Donna DiAcri, Shirley M. Lewis, and Anne Richards and from the Wilton Woman’s Club were Julie Wojciechowski and Amy Jerrereis. Thank you everyone for your fine performance. Anne Richards, Chair |
